08/02/2010The Pirates of Poole will launch and name ARRYPAYE at a ceremony on Poole Quay this coming Satuday and SSRC will be taking a contingent to cheer them on.
The original plan to row Dancing Ledge from Swanage to Poole has been shelved because of the weather forecast, so instead it will go by road and be launched at the public slip next to the Lifeboat College from where it will be rowed round to Poole Quay. Anyone who wishes to take part, and take advantage of the opportunity to row a pilot gig under the lifting bridge into Poole Harbour should assemble at 10.00am at the Polytunnel to load Dancing Ledge onto the trailer. We‘ll sort numbers and car sharing at the time, and then head off to Poole to launch.
